One in 24 students in San Francisco are homeless.

Students without a high school degree or GED are 450% more likely to experience homelessness in their lifetime.

These children are willing –

they just need our support.

High-impact 1-1 tutoring can raise a child’s reading level two grades in 1 year!

A Plea For Help From Our Founder

IN 2024 IN SAN FRANCISCO

Urban Angels SF is committed to supporting the education of unhoused children and children from families that live at or below the poverty line through its new program, Rise Up SF.

Phase 1 of Rise Up SF is on now!

It will focus on funding and providing 1 on 1 tutoring in reading to grades K-4. Children who are not reading-proficient after 4th grade are at a higher risk for never catching up.

Once the phase 1 tutoring program is up and running, additional offerings in the Rise Up SF program may include:

  • School supplies & backpacks

  • Getting out in nature

  • Summer Camps

  • Parenting Classes

  • Supporting families with essential supplies

Experts agree that education is the key and most effective way to lift these children up to better, safer and happier lives.

“When individuals do not have access to education, they may not acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to find employment or create economic opportunities for themselves.

This can lead to a cycle of poverty, where individuals and families struggle to make ends meet and are unable to improve their standard of living.”
